Volunteer FAQ

Q: How many days do I have to volunteer and for how many hours?

A: We ask that each volunteer work at least two (2) shifts over the course of the event. Each shift is approximately four or five hours.

Q: What does the volunteer fee cover?

A: The fee covers the uniform (one polo shirt, one ball cap), preferred parking, Volunteer Badge (good for all 3 days with Kamtek Garage pass), Guest Pass (1 ticket for each day with Kamtek Garage pass), and meals during shifts.

Q: How do I know my assignment?

A: We will send you a confirmation letter with your committee assignment and chairman's contact information within two months of us receiving your application.

Q: Can I watch the race when I am not working?

A: Yes, your credential is valid for all three days and we encourage you to do so. On days that you are working as a volunteer, before or after your shift, you are welcome to watch the race as a spectator. On days that you are not working as a volunteer, please do not wear your uniform.

Q: Can I be scheduled (shift assignments) at the same time as my spouse, friend, etc.?

A: We will make every effort to accommodate your scheduling requests. Make sure to list your request on the availability Information Tab on your Volunteer application.

Q: How do I know my schedule? And when will I receive my schedule?

A: You will submit your availability information on your application when you register. The form asks you to provide us your preferred days and times and will be used to create the master schedule for your committee. Once finalized, your committee chairman will be in contact.

Q: When will the uniforms be distributed?

A: Uniforms will be distributed at Volunteer Orientation, April 13th and 18th at 6pm at Barber Motorsports Park. If you cannot make it to orientation you can pick your uniform up at Volunteer Headquarters.

Q: What do I do if my uniform does not fit?

A: You will be able to exchange your uniform during the three day event.

Q: How will I know what to do when I show up for my shift?

A: Please contact your committee chairman if you are unsure of your duties.
